About Studio Texas

Studio Texas began decades ago in the minds of Karen Vernon and Amanda Danning, long before they met. Both had experienced the energy and support artists found in other parts of the nation and wondered why Texas did not already have a dedicated campus for the visual arts. After meeting in 2020 and working together at ARTS, the mission of providing art education to rural Texas students fueled their shared vision. With early contributions from Jacquelyn Ditsler, the organization took shape and now launches its first Art Escape.

Studio Texas believes Round Top is the right place for this dream — the visual arts version of Festival Hill, a future sculpture trail, and a community passionate about culture and beauty. The organization hopes to support a movement that values Texas’ landscape for its rolling hills, expansive views, and cultural history.

Art Escape is one of Studio Texas’ core programs, designed to build fellowship through education and exhibition. By attending the workshops, artists help Studio Texas continue building a statewide network dedicated to supporting visual arts.

Studio Texas welcomes annual memberships, donations, and volunteer support. Studio Texas is a 501(c)(3) organization. All proceeds are dedicated to nurturing art and artists.

Space is limited. For more information on the event or on Studio Texas go to studiotexas. org or email Karen Vernon at kvernon555@gmail.com.
