Local Art Exhibit to Support Rural Arts Education Through 100% Benefit
Faces & Places, a gallery exhibition by Mike Clann, is coming soon to the ARTS Ross Gallery in Fayetteville. This collection spans over twenty years of Mike’s painting career, featuring acrylic, oil, and mixed media paintings. Visitors may recognize local landmarks and see familiar faces. An opening reception will be held Saturday, April 25, from 4-6 p.m.
Not only is Mike an exceptional artist, but he is also one of the founders of ARTS. Back in 2003, he, along with Jeanette Brown and Terry Ross, recognized the lack of art education in rural schools. They believed that children in rural communities deserve access to visual and performing arts, and that they are an essential part of education.
“Creativity is a learnable process, and the creative process exists in everything we do in our day-to-day lives,” Mike explains. “What ARTS is doing accelerates that learning process and expands it.”
Being one of the founders of ARTS and believing in the mission, Mike is donating 100% of all gallery sales to ARTS’ vital children’s programming. Stop by the gallery for the show’s opening reception and take home a piece of art to support art education in our rural communities.
