SNHU Announces Summer Dean’s List

Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is pleased to announce the following students have been named to the Summer 2023 Dean’s List: Tanya Ellis of Flatonia and Courtney Piltz of La Grange. The summer terms run from May to August.

For the Record

Contraptions and Innovations, the current exhibit on early Fayette County patents at the Fayette Heritage Museum and Archives will end on Friday, Oct. 13. Visitors are welcome upstairs above the public library at 855 S. Jefferson Street in La Grange from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.

A Closer Look at the Fun of Oktoberfests

As the summer turns to fall, German communities across the world gather to celebrate Oktoberfest. This celebration of food, drink, culture and music goes back more than two centuries. Just about everywhere the Germans settled, they brought this tradition with them, especially in Texas.

Library Book Oversight Big Topic of LGISD Meeting

Library books were a big topic of discussion at Monday night’s school board meeting. The discussion item on the agenda was whether or not the school board wanted to change the current policy on how the books are reviewed and who does that reviewing.

Homecoming Week For Leopards

The 28th annual La Grange homecoming community pep rally was held Wednesday at Leopard Stadium. As part of the event, homecoming royalty nominees were announced.
