Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Monday afternoon around 12:52 p.m. the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a structure fire on S. US Hwy. 77 past Hausmann Gin Rd.

As the summer turns to fall, German communities across the world gather to celebrate Oktoberfest. This celebration of food, drink, culture and music goes back more than two centuries. Just about everywhere the Germans settled, they brought this tradition with them, especially in Texas.

Library books were a big topic of discussion at Monday night’s school board meeting. The discussion item on the agenda was whether or not the school board wanted to change the current policy on how the books are reviewed and who does that reviewing.

The 28th annual La Grange homecoming community pep rally was held Wednesday at Leopard Stadium. As part of the event, homecoming royalty nominees were announced.

La Grange Police are investigating a shooting that took place Saturday night, Sept. 16.

A crash at the intersection of FM 2436 and US 77 south of La Grange seriously injured the two drivers on Thursday, Sept. 14.
