Woman Tumbles Down River Bridge Embankment

Above, a team of first responders carries a woman to an ambulance on a stretcher after she tumbled down the steep embankment on the west side of the Travis Street bridge across the Colorado River Thursday afternoon, Sept. 10. The woman was walking east toward downtown and was about to get to the pedestrian walkway on the bridge (pictured left) when she slipped and fell. She did not appear to have suffered any serious injuries. Fayette County EMS transported her to St. Mark’s Hospital in La Grange for an evaluation.
