Two Killed in Vehicle Pursuit on I-10

A vehicle pursuit on Interstate 10 ended in a crash that killed two people on Wednesday.

According to a report from Chief Deputy Randy Noviskie of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened near mile marker 668 close to the Engle exit.

Noviskie said a Sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull over a suspected stolen car. The vehicle was a Honda Pilot. Noviskie said the car did not stop and began passing other traffic. Noviskie said the car attempted to pass an 18-wheeler on the right side of the road when it lost control and crashed into the ditch.

Two people in the car died at the scene.

Noviskie said the Texas Department of Public Safety was conducting a crash investigation.

The DPS office in La Grange reported that the investigation was not yet complete on Wednesday afternoon, when this paper went to press.
