Turtle Wing, Parents As Teachers Offer ‘Behavior Is Communication’ Workshop

Turtle Wing Foundation will again partner with Schulenburg/Weimar Area Parents as Teachers to provide quality training for early childhood educators, daycare providers, their staff, and all parents of young children. The next training will be on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic School Family Life Center in Hallettsville. The presenter is Kadee Bludau, MA, CCC-SLP and speech therapist for Complete Hometown Physical Therapy. The program will cover how “Behavior is Communication.” Objectives to be covered include but may not be limited to:

• Why are we having difficulties communicating?

• How do I handle or respond to my child’s tantrum?

• Are our behaviors developmentally appropriately? Terrible twos?

• Why do we cry easily when frustrated?

• Is this a behavior problem or language issue?

This training is open to anyone interested, but an RSVP is requested to help with planning the meal that will be provided. This workshop is free of charge thanks to a grant from Fayette Electric Co-Op and Co-Bank.
