Three Pistols Stolen From Vehicles in Lynnwood

Home surveillance footage captured this image of one of the burglars breaking into a four-door Jeep on Lester Street early Tuesday morning. Pistols were taken from two other vehicles that were burglarized that morning.

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reported that at least three vehicles were burglarized in the Lynnwood neighborhood early Tuesday morning. All of the vehicles were unlocked, Gilbreath said.

Surveillance video provided by a homeowner on Lester Street recorded one of the break-ins taking place around 1:50 a.m. Police believe three subjects were responsible for the break-ins. The burglars also broke into a 2021 Kia Sorento in the 200 block of Cynthia Lane. Also on Cynthia Lane, the burglars broke into a 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup.

The three pistols taken were a Chanik USA 9 mm, a Ruger .380 and a Glock G17 9 mm.

If anyone saw anything suspicious early Tuesday morning near the Lynnwood neighborhood, report it to Fayette County Crimestoppers by calling (979) 968-8477 or 1-800-272-TIPS.

Gilbreath reminded everyone to never leave any valuables in their vehicle when unattended, even if the vehicle is locked. He said citizens should never leave a firearm in their vehicle overnight.
