Subject Arrested for DWI After Striking Parked Vehicle

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on recent activities his department responded to during the week of Oct. 11-18.

Driving While Intoxicated

On Oct. 11, Meinardus was dispatched to the 1900 block of State Highway 71 Business where caller stated that a subject in a black Toyota single cab truck struck a vehicle while parking and appeared disorientated. Officer spoke to the subject who appeared to be intoxicated and officer attempted a sobriety test but subject refused. Officer arrested subject for DWI.

Assault

On Oct. 11, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 700 block of E. Eblin in regard to an assault. Officer spoke with two female subjects who stated they were assaulted by several subjects. Officer took information for an incident report.

Accident

On Oct. 13, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of an accident in the 1400 block of N. Jefferson with injuries and a fire department extraction.

On Oct. 14, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the intersection of N. Jefferson and E. Colorado in regard to a two-vehicle accident. Officer took report and a citation was issued.

On Oct. 14, Wostarek was dispatched to One St. Mark’s Place in regard to a subject that was involved in a traffic accident. Officer arrived on location and spoke with both parties and took information for a report.

On Oct. 16, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to a minor accident at the intersection of W. Fannin and N. Washington.

On Oct. 15, Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Travis in regard to an accident that occurred in the parking lot. Officer issued the driver a blue form for insurance purposes.

On Oct. 15, Maxwell was dispatched to the intersection of E. Colorado and W. Travis in regard to a two-vehicle accident. Officer took information and a citation was issued.

Alarm

On Oct. 15, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 300 block of N. Washington for a hold up panic alarm. Officer arrived and searched the area but no one appeared to be in the building. Officer walked through the building with a key holder and found nothing suspicious.

Animal Complaint

On Oct. 11, Patrolman Robin Emmons responded to the 500 block of E. Fannin for a loose white and brown dog in the area. Officer was unable to locate the animal.

On Oct.12, Animal Control Officer Dean Ahlschlager was dispatched to the 700 block of S. Madison to check on a dog and the dog had food and water.

On Oct. 15, Ahlschlager checked on a dog in the 100 block of Charles Street. The dog had water and food.

On Oct. 15, Wostarek was dispatched to the 600 block of Rosenberg in regard to an animal complaint. Officer arrived on location and spoke with both parties. Officer contacted animal control about the incident.

Citizen Assist

On Oct. 12, Patrolman Kevin Currington assisted a citizen at the police station in retrieving a flashlight from his engine compartment.

On Oct. 14, Currington was dispatched to the station to talk with an individual on possible warrants. The subject was not wanted.

Civil Matter

On Oct. 13, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call from the 200 block of E. Travis in regard to complainant being threatened.

On Oct. 13, Anderson received a call in regard to a civil matter in the 400 block of S. Ellinger.

Disorderly Conduct

On Oct. 18, Currington was dispatched to the 800 block of S. Jefferson for loud subjects at the playground. Officer spoke to adult and he took the kids home.

Family Violence

On Oct. 12, Currington was dispatched to the 500 block of W. Lower Line for a disturbance.

Suspicious Vehicle

On Oct. 13, Zwahr spoke with a caller in reference to a suspicious vehicle in the 1700 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Officer arrived on location and searched the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

Theft

On Oct. 11, Wostarek received information of a possible stolen bicycle in the 500 block of E. Guadalupe.

On Oct. 12, Mohr received a call of a theft in the 300 block of E. Live Oak and upon arriving took report information.

On Oct. 15, Wostarek responded to the 500 block of Cindy Lane and took information for a theft report.

Verbal Dispute

On Oct. 14, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Madison in regard to a verbal dispute. Officer arrived on location and spoke with several subjects. Subjects were separated after speaking with the officer.

Welfare Check

On Oct. 12, Patrolman Justin Koehne was dispatched to the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in reference to several children left in a vehicle. When officer arrived the caller stated the vehicle left the location.

Miscellaneous

On Oct. 11, Koehne responded to the 200 block of E. Travis and met with complainant that turned in a wallet he found. The owner was located and the property was returned.

On Oct. 14, Koehne responded to the 100 block of S. Jefferson where complainant located a strange object in the bushes at the location. An item contained paperwork for a GEO tracking game.

On Oct. 14, Maxwell was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Madison in regard to a stalled vehicle in the roadway. The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation and the vehicle was impounded.
