Sheriff’s Office Investigating Several Thefts in Fayette Co.
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of October.
Deputy Ben Wilson responded to a residence off of FM 609 for a theft of two jet skis. Wilson also responded to Monument Hill State Historic Park for suspicious circumstances involving a person involved in theft of petty cash. The person was identified and trespass warned for the property.
Deputy Marc Bennett responded to property in the Carmine area for a theft of a two wheel fire hose wagon. Bennett also took a report of a stolen truck and gooseneck trailer from property off of State Highway 71. Bennett also investigated mailbox damage on State Highway 237 where a mailbox was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle made contact with the Sheriff’s Office and took responsibility for the accident.
Sergeant Investigator Angela Lala investigated an assault which occurred at the antique festival. Both parties declined to file charges on one another.
Deputy Ryan Meagher investigated a possible suicide of a female at a residence off of Knezek Road. The case is pending an autopsy.
Sergeant Charles Jobb took a report of harassment from a person in the Round Top area. The suspect, an ex-boyfriend was contacted and warned of future incidents of harassment Jobb also responded to US Hwy. 290 where a small single engine plane made an emergency landing on the roadway due to a fuel leak. No injuries occurred during the incident.
Deputy Herman Olvera investigated an inquest of a death of a person located in a car near the Schulenburg area off of Interstate 10. The case is still under investigation and awaiting the results of an autopsy. Olvera also responded to a suspicious vehicle call near Baca Loop and US Hwy. 90. Olvera located the vehicle and identified persons in the vehicle. One person was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Deputy Darrell Maze responded to an address in Fayetteville for a neighbor dispute. One person was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for public intoxication, resisting arrest, and failure to identify.
Deputy Mark Zimmerman investigated a theft off of Krenek Stryk Road. Two suspects were identified and charges are pending. Deputy Kenn Kretz took a burglary report in the Muldoon area. Reported missing were tools and equipment.
Deputy Joe Gonzales responded to a suicidal person at a residence off of Reinsch Road. The female was found at the residence and was unresponsive. Fayette County EMS responded and she was transported to St Mark’s Medical Center for treatment Gonzales also responded to the Flatonia Livestock Auction Barn for a suspicious person. The person was located and found to be in possession of narcotics. The male was arrested.
Deputy Michael Krenek responded to a disturbance in the Schulenburg area where one male was arrested for assault.
Deputy Tammy McCleney took a report of harassment where her ex-boyfriend was following her. The ex-boyfriend was located and found to have two outstanding warrants and was arrested. McCleney also investigated a fraud case where checks were fraudulently made and passed out of state.
Deputy Jared Michalec responded to a residence off of FM 2981 in reference to a suspicious male in the area that was acting suspicious. Michalec made the location and was unable to locate him.
Deputy Arvin Gresham investigated a burglary of a habitation in the La Grange area.
Jail Administrator Ed Sawyer reports that Fayette County Correction Officers booked in 39 individuals for the month of October and transported seven individuals to the Texas Department of Corrections Facilities to begin serving time for crimes committed in Fayette County.
