Schulenburg Council Approves $75,000 Loan

The Schulenburg City Council approved a $75,000 loan from the Schulenburg Economnic Development Corporation to 3 Oaks RV Resort. The developer, Leon John Langhamer, agreed to a personal guarantee for repaying the loan.

Terms included a repayment period of 10 years and 2.5 percent interested. As part of the terms, Langhamer agreed to keep two full-time workers employed during the repayment period. The terms also state that Langhamer intends to hire three more full-time employees or their equivalent.

The documents signed at Monday’s meeting state that Langhamer will use the money to expand the business by installing 30 RV spots along with an eight inch sewer main and a two inch water main.

3 Oaks RV Resort, located at 55 East Avenue, sits just outside the city limits. Schulenburg City Administrator Tami Walker said Langhamer agreed to annexation in two years.
