PD Looking for Racers

La Grange Police are looking for two vehicles that were reportedly drag racing in town Sunday afternoon.

According to a report from La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath, Officer Mitchell Maxwell responded to a call reporting two vehicles racing on South Main Street around 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6. The vehicles were described as a black Ford F-250 pickup with a black grill guard and a white Chevy pickup.

Maxwell’s report stated that the two vehicles were following each other at a high rate of speed when the black Ford lost control. The Ford struck a mailbox and drove into a yard in the 300 block of South Main Street.

“Street racing is very dangerous, not only for the driver and passengers in the vehicles involved in street racing, but also the general public,” Gilbreath said.

Gilbreath wished to remind drivers that if they are caught street racing, their vehicles will be towed and the drivers will be arrested for reckless driving. If someone is injured or killed, the drivers could face prison time.
