Oviedo Dodge Stolen Vehicle Recovered

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports activities of Fayette County Sheriff Deputies for the month of September.

Deputy Ben Wilson responded to Oviedo Dodge for a report of a stolen vehicle. A report was taken and the vehicle was entered into TCIC/NCIC and was later recovered in California. Wilson also responded to a fence damage case off of FM 2145. Wilson investigated the scene and developed a suspect in the case. The suspect in this case was charged with duty upon striking a vehicle and or landscaping.

Deputy Marc Bennett responded to an address off of Oak Ridge Road in reference to burglary of a vehicle. A suspect has been identified and possibly that of a family member. Bennett also took a report of a lost or stolen Gemtech 7.629 suppressor which was last used at the Fayette County Gun Club Range. The complainant does not remember if it was left on location or stolen.

Deputy Ryan Meagher responded to an address off of Buck Run Drive for a missing elderly person. Information was gathered and the missing person returned home later that evening.

Sergeant Charles Jobb took a report of a stolen skid steer and trailer from a roadwork site off of State Highway 71 near West Point. Jobb also responded to a disturbance between a male and female at Hruska’s. The two were separated and the male suffered from mental illness. The male was transported to the Sheriff’s Office where he was evaluated and later transported to Austin for further treatment.

Deputy Terry Guentert responded to the Freyburg area in reference to a theft in progress of a skid steer. Guentert made the scene and one male was taken into custody. The skid steer was recovered and the truck and trailer used during the attempted theft were found to be stolen as well from other jurisdictions. Guentert also met with a property owner near Flatonia for a burglary.

Investigator Garrett Durrenberger followed up on a burglary case and recovered multiple items. Durrenberger also assisted with the investigation of the Ellinger fire explosion.

Deputy Herman Olvera and the Schulenburg Police Department responded to a residence off of Klesel Road where a male subject was reportedly discharging a firearm towards a structure and or persons there on location. The male was arrested for deadly conduct.

Deputy Darrell Maze responded to a residence off of Old Lockhart Road for a person trespassing. A male was located on location and arrested for trespassing as he had been previously trespass warned to stay away from the property.

Deputy Kenn Kretz assisted Deputy David Smith with a traffic stop where a large amount of money was confiscated from a vehicle.

Deputy Joe Gonzales fielded a call from a suicidal subject who was threatening to take his own life. Gonzales was able to reason with the male and he exited the house. The male was transported to Georgetown for further mental health treatment. Gonzales also responded to a criminal mischief call in the Carmine area where a glass front door was damaged by what appears to be that of a BB and or pellet gun.

Deputy Michael Krenek re

Deputy Michael Krenek responded to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon call in the Engle area. One male was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Krenek also responded to another disturbance call in the Winchester area. Upon arrival a person had been assaulted and the actor had left the scene. Krenek investigated the incident and a warrant will be sought for the suspect in this case.

Deputy Tammy McCleney assisted the Schulenburg Police Department with an assault call and destruction of property by a male suspect. The suspect was identified and fled the scene.

Deputy Jarred Michalec worked a one vehicle accident on State Highway 71 just east of the State Highway 159 exit. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for driving while license invalid.

Deputy Arvin Gresham worked an assault case near the Flatonia area where a son assaulted the mother. The male was arrested for assault.

Jail Administrator Ed Sawyer reports that Fayette County correction officers booked in 34 individuals for the month of September.
