New City Park at Hope Hill Would Have Lots of Amenities
More details have emerged on the planned city park in the Hope Hill subdivision.
The La Grange city council unanimously voted to move forward with the plan, and city officials are now poised to submit a grant application to Texas Park and Wildlife next week.
The maximum grant award is $750,000 and requires a local match of $750,000. But the city has finalized a 6.19-acre donation of land for the park from Samaritans Purse (valued at over $300,000 that can be put towards the local match amount). Samaritans Purse is overseeing the Hope Hill home subdivision project.
The Fayette County Disaster Recovery Team has donated $50,000 to the park project as part of the local match as well.
An updated park proposal map was presented to the council Monday showcasing a pond with a pier and bird viewing blind. A playground, exercise station, covered multi-purpose court, walking trail, covered pavilion with restrooms and more.
The grant award notification is not expected until March 2021.
