Muldoon Ladies Help Fill Operation Christmas Child Boxes
It was a busy week for a number of Muldoon ladies. They began filling the boxes for Operation Christmas Child. The packing party was hosted by Flatonia Baptist Church.
Area ladies that participated were: Pam Sheffield, Vivian Villareal, Pam Knotts, Lora Cherry, Donna Evans and myself. The project is sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse. The boxes full of Christmas gifts, school supplies and personal care items are collected and sent all over the world to spread the message of Jesus.
The Muldoon ladies and several other church members packed 68 boxes during their fellowship time. Filled boxes are still being collected, and will be delivered in a few weeks to the distribution center. It was a great way to kick off the holiday season in this odd year of COVID-19.
Out and About
Pam Sheffield spent last weekend in Cypress keeping her grandkids, Hayley Hudson and Benamin Holland, while their parents, Grey and Sarah Holland, celebrated Grey’s birthday a little early. Grey and Sarah spent the weekend going out to eat, doing some shopping and hanging out together.
Pam and her daughter, Allison Williford, took Hayley and Benjamin on Friday night to a Boardwalk in Cypress where there are restaurants with outside play areas for kids, music and boats on the lake with lots of fun stuff to do. They had pizza at Mod Pizza, ate frozen gelato at CoCo’s Crepes and enjoyed watching the kids play on the Astroturf green. The next day, Pam took the kids to one of the nearby lakes to feed the ducks. They played dodge ball, hide and seek, board games and watched movies—just a wonderful grandma and grandkid time. Hayley made pancakes for breakfast and they enjoyed trips out to Sonic and Whataburger. It was a fun weekend with lots of quality time and tons of memories made.
Croslin Passes
Ruth Croslin, widow of Donald Croslin, was buried in Pitman Cemetery recently. Donald was the son of Christian and Cherry Croslin, who was born in the Muldoon area and lived here as a child. She and her husband, Wilson, moved back after he retired. Donald enjoyed summer visits with his Muldoon family, particularly William Cherry, who was close to Donald’s age.
After the service, Sharon Croslin Broughton and her family visited with her cousins, Martin Cherry, Jr. and Wallace Cherry, and their kids. They hope to get together more often than just at funerals.
Illness
There are several ill with sinus infections, allergies and with COVID-19 in the Muldoon community. Please check on your neighbors, especially the elderly. Check on picking up groceries or possibly making a meal for them. Groceries and meals can be dropped on the doorstep to limit contact, and wear your mask to keep your germs to yourself. This is a small community, and we need to pull together to help each other out not only to protect from loss of property, but also to keep each other safe and healthy.
