Missing Woman Found Unconscious in Car in LG

Wednesday morning Fayette County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a missing 88 year old female from the Warda area.

The woman was last seen the previous afternoon and when she did not answer Wednesday morning when being checked on by family, they called authorities.

Deputy Marc Bennett met with the family and began an area search for the elderly female. Dispatch also utilized an emergency cellular phone “ping” which registered her location possible in the area just off SH 159 and Hwy 71 Bypass. Other deputies responded and began checking the nearby area. Lt. David Beyer responded and in a convenience store parking lot of Texas One Stop, a vehicle was located matching the description.

Lt. Beyer immediately noticed an elderly female behind the wheel and unconscious. Beyer radioed for an emergency medical response and Fayette County Medical Units arrived moments later. The elderly female was stabilized and later transported to an out of town medical facility. Beyer said it is still unknown why the woman never made it home Tuesday.
