Massey Runs First Round Top Meeting as New Mayor

The November meeting of the Round Top town council was changed from in person to teleconference after one or more council members tested positive for COVID. Newly elected mayor Mark Massey and councilmen Frank Hillbolt and Lynn Conine we’re sworn in. Massey assumed control of the meeting.

He recognized the contributions and service of Mayor Barry Bone joined by other mem bers of the council. Councilman Keith Sharp was nominated as mayor pro tem and elected unanimously. The Fayette County Record was unanimously chosen as the town’s newspaper of record. A public workshop was scheduled on Monday, Dec. 7 (location to be determined) to review proposed changes to the town land use/zoning ordinance. Rhonda Dean of Bellville was announced as the new town clerk to be appointed upon completion of her training.
