Man Arrested Here After Soliciting Door Dash Driver for Prostitution
La Grange Police arrested a guest at the Hampton Inn for solicitation of prostitution on Sunday night, May 24.
According to La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath, officers received a call from a female DoorDash driver shortly before 11 p.m. The woman said she delivered an order to a male guest at the hotel. When the man opened the door to his room, she said, he offered her a $30 tip in exchange for “a helping hand.”
The woman declined the offer and left. But the man continued messaging her on the Door Dash app and raised his offer to $40. She then called the police.
La Grange Police Officers Adrian Ortiz and Steven Haynie met with the woman at the hotel and reviewed the text messages on her Door-Dash app. The messages confirmed that the man propositioned the woman for specific sexual acts in exchange for money.
The officers went to the room and confronted the man, who was identified as 37-yearold Matthew Amos of Florida. Gilbreath said Amos eventually admitted to propositioning the woman for sex in exchange for money.
They arrested him for solicitation of prostitution and took him to the Fayette County Jail for booking.
