Lighted Christmas Parade Saturday in RT
The Round Top Lighted Christmas parade is scheduled for this Saturday, Dec. 5. The shops will open at 10 a.m. for a day full of shopping. Stew is being served on the Square beginning at 5 p.m. and the lighted Christmas parade is set to start at 6:45 p.m. The tentative parade route will start on FM 1457, just past the Round Top VFD. It will head up and turn on Main Street, down FM 237, on to Bauer Rummel, then on White Street and finally back on FM 237 where it will end just before the Mercantile. Family Library
The Round Top Family Library holds a garden workday on the first Monday of each month from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. This month’s work day is set for this coming Monday, Dec. 7.
The RTFL’s 17th Annual Chili Cook-Off is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 16. Applications are available on the website or at the library. Stay tuned for more details.

Winedale
The Briscoe Center for American History at Winedale and the Round Top Family Library FYI invite you to join a virtual Zoom lecture on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at 12 p.m. Michelle Johnson, project manager of the William J. Hill Artisans and Artists Archive, a part Bayou Bend, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, will discuss her time researching and photographing Winedale objects on site and in storage at the UT Austin’s Briscoe Center from 2015 to 2016. Come learn more about Winedale’s collections.

Lunch Bunch
A modified Lunch Bunch will be held on Monday, Dec. 7, at 12 p.m. under the oak trees in Henkel Square. Those interested in attending are asked to bring your own lunch, drink and chair. A cash donation will be collected for FCCLA the day of lunch bunch, or if you would like to donate in advance, collections will be taken at the Round Top Library or with Betty at Compass Country Properties. If you just want to ‘do lunch,’ you are under no obligation to donate. If you do come for lunch, please wear a mask and be socially distant.
Chamber of Commerce
The Round Top Chamber of Commerce meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month. A social event begins at 8:30 a.m. and the meeting starts at 9 a.m. This month’s meeting is scheduled for Dec. 10. Social distancing guidelines apply. Hermann Sons Lodge. No. 151
The Round Top Hermann Sons Life Lodge No. 151 is collecting items for the benefit of the children in the foster care system under the supervision of CASA. The stresses families are experiencing during these challenging times have significantly increased their needs. Please consider donating any items that are needed by children aged from birth to 18 years. Items needed are: all size diapers and wipes, all size new or very gently used clothing (outerwear, shoes, socks, undies, pajamas, cool and cold weather sweaters, coats, hats and gloves), accessories, toiletries and personal care items. Gift cards are always in need and appreciated. Please drop off donations at Round Top Real Estate, 101 Main St. in Round Top. Collections will continue until Saturday, Dec. 12. RT-C School News
Round Top-Carmine ISD is taking part in a statewide program offering free rapid COVID-19 tests. In order for students to be eligible to receive a test if needed, parents must give the school permission. A permission form can be found on the school’s website at www.rtcisd.net.

Rifle Hall Burger Nights
Round Top Rifle Hall’s Monday Hamburger Nights are held on the first through fourth Mondays of each month beginning at 5:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the continued improvement of the Round Top Rifle Hall Association.
