LGPD Responds to Report of Family Violence
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Oct. 18-25.
Family Violence
On Oct. 20, Meinardus responded to the 300 block of N. Washington where complainant advised that her ex boyfriend came to her house and assaulted her. Officer gathered the information and photos of damaged property. The suspect was gone when officer arrived on location.
On Oct. 23, Currington was dispatched to the 1600 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in reference to an assault that had occurred two days earlier. Officer took information for report.
Accident
On Oct. 18, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 2300 block of W. Highway 159 for an accident. No injuries.
On Oct. 21, Currington responded to the 1900 block of Highway 71 Business for an accident in the parking lot.
Animal Complaint
On Oct. 21, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to the 500 block of N. Jefferson and spoke with subject in regard to an animal complaint.
Alarm
On Oct. 19, Currington was dispatched to the 600 block of S. Jefferson in reference to an alarm. Checked building and all was fine.
On Oct. 20, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 2200 block of Highway 71 Business in regard to an alarm. The business was found to be secure.
Citizen Assist
On Oct. 19, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 1900 block of Highway 71 Business in regard to a subject that wanted a voucher for a hotel.
On Oct. 23, Patrolman Brett Meinardus spoke with individual in the 100 block of W. Travis that wanted information about homeless shelters in town. Officer advised there were none.
On Oct. 24, Maxwell spoke with a caller in the 900 block of Mode Lane in regard to leaving a vehicle at the location.
On Oct. 24, Maxwell assisted with an event that was being held in the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business.
Disorderly Conduct
On Oct. 21, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of two people arguing in the 500 block of E. Fannin. Officer arrived and separated the parties.
Illegal Dumping
On Oct. 19, Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of N. Water in regard to illegal dumping.
Reckless Driving
On Oct. 22, Zwahr spoke with a caller in regard to reckless driving in the area of the 700 block of N. Horton. Officer then worked a traffic assignment in the area.
Suspicious Person
On Oct. 19, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Von Minden in regard to a suspicious person.
On Oct. 19, Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of N. Vail in regard to a suspicious person.
On Oct. 19, Maxwell was dispatched to the 600 block of E. Pearl in regard to a suspicious person. Caller stated the subject was sleeping in the bathroom. Subject was gone when officer arrived.
On Oct. 19, Zwahr responded to a suspicious person in the 1700 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Officer spoke with subject who was just walking home.
On Oct. 22, Currington was dispatched to the 600 block of S. Jefferson for a suspicious male with a backpack. Officer checked the area and subject was already gone.
Theft
On Oct. 18, Zwahr responded to a shoplifter in the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Officer cited the subject and took information for a report.
On Oct. 20, Maxwell spoke with a subject in reference of unknown persons taking his political signs from his front yard in the 300 block of N. Madison.
On Oct. 20, Maxwell was dispatched to the 500 block of W. Lower Line in regard to theft. Officer took report.
On Oct. 23, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1400 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in regard to theft.
Verbal Dispute
On Oct. 20, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of N. Monroe where called stated that there was a verbal dispute occurring. Officer arrived and met with the subjects who had been involved in an argument. Subjects were separated for the night.
On Oct. 24, Meinardus was dispatched to the 900 block of S. Jefferson where caller stated that a subject lived with him and began yelling at him and telling him what to do. Caller advised he just wanted to get some clothes and leave. Officer waited with caller while he gathered some belongings and left.
Welfare Check
On Oct. 18, Mohr received a call of a subject walking next to the roadway in the 1800 block of Highway 159 and fell on the roadway. Officer arrived in the area but was unable to locate the subject.
On Oct. 18, Mohr responded to the 500 block of W. Lower Line for a welfare check and found the person in question to be safe.
On Oct. 24, Meinardus was dispatched to the 1300 block of N. Jefferson where caller stated that she saw an elderly female walking on the side of the road. Officer went to the location and was notified that her son in law was on his way to pick her up.
Miscellaneous
On Oct. 18, Zwahr responded to the 1000 block of N. Madison for a noise complaint.
On Oct. 21, Patrolman Robin Emmons responded to the 900 block of Heintze where complainant received a letter from Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom of Pflugerville and the letter was written in Russian. Complainant wanted the police to be aware.
On Oct. 23, Maxwell responded to the 1900 block of Highway 159 in regard to property damage.
On Oct. 23, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1700 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass in regard to a noise complaint.
On Oct. 25, Meinardus responded to the 1000 block of N. Madison in regard to people being loud by the picnic tables at the apartment complex. Officer checked the location but found no one in the area and did not hear anything.
