LG-Native Kocian Named Game Warden of the Year

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is proud to recognize Victoria County game warden John Kocian as its recipient of the 2020 Midwest Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies Officer of the Year Award. Kocian graduated from La Grange High School in 1997 and earned his degree in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University in 2002. Kocian was accepted into the 49th Texas Game Warden Academy class and graduated in 2003. Kocian has served the communities in Victoria County for 17 years. Jon and his wife Amanda have three children, Aubrey, Chelsey, and Kyle. Jon is the son of Virginia Kocian and the late Ed Kocian of La Grange and the grandson of the late Ed and Victoria Matocha of La Grange.
