LG City Moving Forward With Plan to Close Beefhead Ditch

In other business at Monday’s meeting, Council authorized City Manager Shawn Raborn to begin seeking engineering services for a project to close in Beefhead Ditch. The ditch will be replaced with underground culverts. Raborn said the first phase of the project would involve covering the section of ditch alongside H-E-B. Raborn said the grocery store is planning a remodel.

Also at Monday’s meeting, Council met in closed session to discuss a possible land donation to the City. Raborn declined to elaborate on the closed-door conversation between the Council members. The discussion was likely about the future park in the Hope Hill nieghborhood. At their last meeting two weeks ago, Raborn presented a plan for the park to the Council. The plan involves applying for a grant to pay for the park. Part of the plan involved the developers of the nighborhood, Samaritan’s Purse, donating land for the park to the City.
