La Grange Police Respond to Stolen Political Signs on Oak Street
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Sept. 13-20.
Assault
On Sept. 17, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to Woodhollow for an assault. The victim was reluctant to report it and was advised to come to the police station and complete a statement for investigation into the incident.
On Sept. 18, Patrolman Justin Koehne spoke with complainant in the 1400 block of W. Highway 71 Business about threats received from a customer who had already left the store.
On Sept. 19, Sgt. Travis Anderson responded to the 500 block of N. Washington for an assault that had occurred.
Agency Assist
On Sept. 17, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of N. Jefferson to help with a juvenile whom a Bastrop County deputy was transporting. Deputy requested help in removing contraband from the subject.
Accident
On Sept. 15, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of a two vehicle minor crash in the 300 block of N. Jefferson.
On Sept. 18, Mohr received a call of an accident with an injury in the 600 block of N. Franklin.
On Sept. 18, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to a one-vehicle accident in the 1600 block of State Highway 71 Business.
On Sept. 18, Zwahr responded to a two vehicle minor accident in the 100 block of N. Monroe.
Civil Matter
On Sept. 18, Mohr received a call of a civil standby in the 600 block of S. Jefferson. Officer conducted standby for family members.
City Ordinance Violation
On Sept. 17, the city electrical department reported an unknown person in the 900 block of E. Camp had put a lock on an electrical box.
Driving While Intoxicated
On Sept. 19, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Monroe for a DWI. Driver was arrested for DWI and possession of marijuana.
Disorderly Conduct
On Sept. 15, Anderson responded to the 100 block of FM 609 for loud music. The source of the music was located and it was a band practicing inside a building. The music was found to be playing at an acceptable level and the call was cleared.
On Sept. 15, Zwahr spoke with a caller in reference to a noise complaint in the 400 block of E. Colorado.
On Sept. 19, Anderson received a call in regard to vehicles driving by the location in the 400 block of N. 3rd alley and playing loud music.
Found Property
On Sept. 18, Patrolman Robin Emmons responded to the 1700 block of State Highway 71 Business to a business parking lot where a brown bottle of nitroglycerin tablets were found. Pills were placed in a narcotics drop box for destruction.
Harassment
On Sept. 15, Currington responded to the 600 block of E. Lafayette for a possible harassment. Officer talked to both subjects involved.
On Sept. 18, Zwahr met with complainant in the 800 block of S. Washington. A report was taken in regard to harassment.
On Sept. 19, Emmons responded to the 1000 block of N. Madison where complainant advised a white male was knocking on her door. The complainant did not know the subject. Officer contacted the subject and said the lady in that apartment looks like someone he would enjoy talking to. Subject said he would stop.
Parking Violation
On Sept. 15, Anderson issued a parking citation to a commercial vehicle in the 100 block of E. Crockett that was parked on the wrong side of the roadway in a residential zone.
Sexual Assault of a Child
On Sept. 18, Mohr received a call of a sexual assault on N. Jefferson. Officer arrived and obtained information.
Suspicious Vehicle
On Sept. 17, Meinardus responded to the 1600 block of W. State Highway 71 Business where caller stated that there was a new vehicle in the Ford dealership with its running lights on. Officer searched the area and found that the vehicle did not appear to have been tampered with. Officer left a note on the vehicle informing Ford of the circumstances.
On Sept. 17, Patrolman Brian Adams responded to the 500 block of N. Monroe for a suspicious vehicle parked on the side of building with Florida tags. The truck was a Chevy truck and no one was in the vehicle.
Theft
On Sept. 13, Meinardus responded to the 1100 block of E. Oak Street where caller advised that two political signs were stolen from their front yard. Officer gathered information and completed a report.
On Sept. 14, Zwahr responded to a call in regard to a theft in the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Officer cited both subjects.
On Sept. 14, Mohr received a call of a theft in the 2000 block of W. State Highway 71 Business.
On Sept. 17, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell met with complainant in the 100 block of E. Colorado in regard to theft of service. Officer took information.
On Sept. 19, Mohr received a call of a stolen bicycle in the 900 block of Mode Lane. Officer took report.
Trespassing
On Sept. 14, Mohr received a call of a business in the 2000 block of W. State Highway 71 Business needing a criminal trespass warning issued on a patron. Officer located the patron and issued the criminal trespass warning.
On Sept. 19, Anderson received a call in regard to a trespasser in the 400 block of N. Jackson.
On Sept. 20, Mohr received a call of issuing a criminal trespass warning to two individuals in the 1700 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass.
Verbal Dispute
On Sept. 15, Zwahr spoke with a resident in the 100 block of Northwest Circle in regard to a verbal dispute. They advised all was fine and the other parties were gone upon officer’s arrival.
On Sept. 16, Meinardus responded to the 800 block of S. Washington where caller stated that her neighbor yelled at her demanding that she return some gardening tools the subject had let the caller borrow. Subject stated that the caller and her got into an argument regarding the tools. Officer advised them to leave each other alone.
