La Grange Police Officers Arrest Subjects with Outstanding Warrants

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Dec. 27 through Jan. 3, 2021.

Warrant Arrest

On Jan. 2, Meinardus was patrolling in the 600 block of E. Travis and saw a subject known to have a warrant. Officer made contact with the subject and the warrant was verified. Officer arrested subject and was transported to the Fayette County Jail.

On Jan. 2, Maxwell arrested a subject in the 600 block of W. Travis for an outstanding warrant.

Assault

On Dec. 28, Patrolman Brett Meinardus was dispatched to the 900 block of E. Guadalupe for a disturbance between the subject and his juvenile nephew. Officer spoke to the subjects and provided statement forms to all people involved. Officer will complete a report on the incident.

Animal Complaint

On Dec. 27, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of a dog that was running down the street in the 700 block of E. Walnut. Officer located the dog and the owner was able to get the dog back in the yard.

On Dec. 28, Animal Control Officer Dean Ahlschlager checked on a pit bull dog in the 700 block of E. Fannin. Owner will pick up the dog.

On Dec. 29, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 1000 block of E. Pearl in regard to an animal complaint.

On Jan. 1, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 200 block of S. Lester in regard to an injured deer. Officer arrived on location and the deer ran off.

On Jan. 2, Wostarek was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Madison in regard to two loose dogs. Officer arrived on location and transported the dogs to the animal shelter.

Accident

On Dec. 31, Patrolman Cari Haman responded to the 400 block of E. Travis for a twovehicle accident. Both parties refused EMS and both vehicles were towed.

On Jan. 2, Meinardus responded to the 2200 block of W. State Highway 71 Business for a two-vehicle accident.

Alarm

On Dec. 31, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to the 600 block of E. Colorado for a loud alarm. Officer checked the area and found it was the alarm at the location. An employee arrived and shut off the alarm.

Agency Assist

On Dec. 27, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Vail to make entry to a residence for EMS

On Dec. 31, Mohr received a call to assist medic 2 with a medical call in the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Patrolman arrived and started patient assessment and transferred care to the medic staff upon arrival.

Citizen Assist

On Dec. 30, Mohr while on routine patrol in the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business observed the Brinks truck unloading. As they were unloading a large bag of $20 bills opened and spilled on the parking lot. Officer assisted Brinks employee and citizens picked up and returned as many of the bills as they could.

On Jan. 1, Meinardus responded to the 700 block of N. Madison where caller stated that she heard people popping fireworks in the vicinity. Officer checked the area and didn’t locate anyone or hear any fireworks.

Civil Matter

On Dec. 27, Mohr responded to the 200 block of S. Ellinger for a civil matter on a renter. Officer advised complainant to follow up with a justice of the peace.

On Dec. 31, Zwahr responded to the 900 block of N. Madison in response to a complaint of loud noises coming from a neighbor. Officer spoke with subjects and advised all was fine.

Disorderly Conduct

On Dec. 29, Haman responded to the 400 block of W. Travis where complainant advised that a citizen repeatedly comes into the store and starts harassing workers. The citizen stated that he said he was going to call Mrs. Butt and complain that the store would not give him money or cash checks.

On Dec. 30, Mohr received a call of a verbal disturbance in the 1000 block of Salm.

On Dec. 31, Currington was dispatched to the 700 block of S. Franklin for fireworks. Officer spoke with complainant and checked the area and was unable to locate suspects.

Family Violence

On Dec. 28, Wostarek was dispatched to the 900 block of E. Guadalupe in regard to a disturbance. Officer took information upon arrival.

On Dec. 28, Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Guadalupe in regard to a disturbance. Officer arrived on location and spoke with a male subject.

Found Property

On Dec. 29, Maxwell spoke with complainant in the 100 block of E. Lower Line who had found a credit card in the roadway. Officer retuned the card to the owner.

Harassment

On Dec. 30, Currington was dispatched to the 900 block of N. Franklin for harassment. Officer took information.

On Jan. 1, Patrolman John Koehne spoke with complainant in the 1900 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in regard to harassment.

Possession of a firearm

On Jan. 2, Wostarek was dispatched to the 400 block of N. College in regard to a male subject waving a gun. Officer arrived on location and found the gun. Subject was arrested on multiple charges and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.

Reckless Driving

On Dec. 27, Currington was dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Jefferson for a reckless driver. Driver was gone upon officer’s arrival.

On Jan. 3, Maxwell was dispatched to the area of N. Monroe and E. Guadalupe in regard to a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. Officer searched the area but was unable to locate any vehicle in the area.

Suspicious Vehicle/Person

On Dec. 27, Mohr responded to the 900 block of Mode Lane for possible drug activity.

On Dec. 29, Haman attempted to locate a suspicious vehicle in the 200 block of Svoboda Lane. The vehicle was gone on officers arrival.

On Dec. 29, Haman responded to the housing authority on Koening Lane in reference to a male subject with a gun. Upon arrival it was determined that there were no weapons involved.

On Dec. 29, Haman spoke with a caller in regard to a subject approaching her children in the 200 block of W. Travis asking for money. Subject was gone upon officer’s arrival.

Trespassing

On Dec. 28, Chief David Gilbreath responded to the 400 block of E. Travis where complainant reported that a subject continues to come in to HEB bothering customers.

On Dec. 28, Maxwell spoke to complainant in the 800 block of Roitsch in regard to a subject that was trespassing.

Theft

On Dec. 30, Zwahr met with individual in the 1900 block of Highway 159 in regard to a theft.
