La Grange Man Arrested For Domestic Violence

La Grange Police arrested a man on a felony domestic violence charge last Monday after a brief search.

According to La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath, 38-year-old Darren LaTodd Houston of La Grange, allegedly assaulted his wife two weeks prior. Gilbreath said police obtained a warrant for his arrest and attempted to serve it last Monday, Oct. 5.

Police could not locate Houston when they arrived at his residence in the 300 block of East Live Oak. Gilbreath said officers learned Houston fled the residence shortly before their arrival.

Police blocked off the street during the search. Gilbreath called for assistance from Sgt. Randy Thumann and his K-9 partner Colt from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. The K-9 team searched the residence.

“They found some drug paraphernalia and a useable amount of marijuana that supposedly belonged to (Houston),” Gilbreath said.

Police eventually captured Houston hiding in the back yard of a residence between Madison and Live Oak streets. They arrested him without further incident and transported him to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center in La Grange.
