Kovars Welcome New Grandson
Kaleb Samuel Kuskie was born on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 1:06 p.m. to Kyle and Stacey Kovar Kuskie of Richmond. He weighed six pounds, 13 ounces and was 20 inches long. His grandparents are Erwin and Betty Kovar of Fayetteville and Kendall and Mary Jo Kuskie of Denton. Great-grandmothers are Ellen Vasek of Columbus and Darlene Kuskie of Grant, Nebraska.
No KC Barbecue
There will be no Knights of Columbus barbecue this Sunday, Dec. 13. Watch this column for the next scheduled barbecue.
Fundraiser
A drive by fundraiser dinner benefiting Derwood Schulle will be held Monday, Dec. 14 at the Wine Bar at Grand Fayette Hotel at 201 West Fayette St.
Tickets for this meal of meat loaf, mashed potatoes and green beans are selling for $20 a ticket and may be bought at Fayetteville Bank, Orsaks Cafe, ARTS and the Wine Bar Restaurant.
The meal will be served from the side door of the Wine Bar from 4 to 6 p.m.
This fundraiser will benefit the bile duct cancer treatment and medical bills for Derwood.

Advent Services Continue
The Shared Lutheran Ministry has Advent services scheduled for Wednesdays: Dec. 16 worship is scheduled at St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville at 6 p.m.
Christmas Eve services are scheduled for all four congregations of the Shared Lutheran Ministry. St. John, Ellinger will be at 5 p.m.; St. John’s, Warrenton at 6 p.m.; St. Paul, Fayetteville at 7 p.m.; and St. John, Rutersville at 8 p.m.
A joint worship will be held at St. John’s, Warrenton on Sunday, Dec. 27, at 9 a.m. with lessons and carols.

Fayetteville Brethren Church
The Fayetteville Brethren Church, located at 1022 Kramr Rd., will have a parking lot Christmas service on Saturday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. The service with Holy Communion will be led by Rev. Mike Groseclose. If you attend, you are asked to please stay in your vehicle. Inperson services will not be held until further notice.
Other services held are at Industry Brethren: parking lot services on Saturdays, Dec. 12 and 19, at 3 p.m.; in-person services at Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services.
Christmas services will be held on Dec. 19 at Fayetteville and Industry and Dec. 20 at Wesley and Nelsonville. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page. Information about other worship broadcasts can be found at UnityoftheBrethren.org.
