Giving Tuesday at Festival Hill
On Tuesday, Dec. 1 Round Top Festival Institute will launch its annual fall 24-hour online fundraising challenge. The goal of the Giving Tuesday Campaign is to raise $18,000 to help fund the 2021 Scholarship Program.
Next summer, Round Top Festival Institute expects to welcome 90 classical music students to work with faculty and conductors during the Summer Festival to study and improve their performance skills. Students come from conservatories and music schools all over the world and are selected through a rigorous audition process. To allow student participation based on talent and merit alone, each student is awarded a tuition scholarship of $6,000 to help alleviate financial burden.
Student scholarships are at the core of the Institute’s educational mission and support the Institute through the six-weeks of private lessons, chamber music, orchestral studies, and performance opportunities, resulting in the public concerts that many of you experience and enjoy throughout the summer season. During the Festival, Fayette County Day offers a reduced ticket price for residents of Fayette County and the Young Persons Concert and master classes are free to the public.
On Giving Tuesday, every donor will be entered into a drawing to receive one of three great prizes - Two tickets to the Opening Orchestral Concert of the 2021 Round Top Music Festival on June 12, a four pack of tickets to the Institute’s 2021 Patriotic Concert on July 4, or two tickets to the Closing Orchestral Concert of the 2021 Round Top Music Festival on July 17. All donors of $6,000 or more automatically receive a bonus pack of all three prizes.
Performing arts centers have been especially hit hard during this pandemic due to closures and loss of revenue. Festival Hill is no exception. Please consider supporting the Institute through your generous donation. Donations can be made with a major credit card online at festivalhill. org or during the Giving Tuesday event. Indicate “for scholarships.” Gifts of all sizes are welcome. If you wish to donate by check, please make your check payable to the James Dick Foundation and mail to P.O. Box 89 Round Top, TX 78954. Indicate “for Giving Tuesday” in the memo field. To be included in the drawing, donation must be postmarked by Dec. 1, 2020.
