First City of Ellinger Meeting Slated Dec. 21
The first meeting of the newly-formed City of Ellinger is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 21. The meeting will be held at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Dining Hall at 6 p.m. An agenda will be posted in the Post Office on Dec. 14 after 3 p.m.
Chamber of Commerce
The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce made the decision to cancel the fundraiser that was to be held on Sunday, Dec. 6. There was to be a drive-thru lunch and all the activities were going to be held outdoors, but the weather was to be cold and preparations for plates would be moved indoors. This would be too close of contact for volunteers inside the kitchen/dining area due to COVID-19 specifications.
Sewer and Water
The Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corporation will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m.
The Corporation’s annual meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Feb.18, 2021. Three director’s positions will be up for re-election. Any member interested in running for one of these positions can pick up an application from Carissa Karisch, the Corporation’s bookkeeper. The applications will be due on Jan. 5, 2021.
Hermann Sons Life Lodge
The Ellinger Hermann Sons Life Lodge will not be meeting for the remainder of 2020. They will keep you updated as to when the lodge will meet again. For more information, contact Diane Marusik.
SLM News
The Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County has scheduled its Advent services. The Theme for Advent is “Jesus’ Family Tree,” and it will lift up seven of the ancestors of Jesus and how each contributed to the focus of His mission. The Wednesday. The Wednesday evening worship on Dec. 16 will be in Rutersville begining at 6 p.m. using the Holden Evening Prayer format.
No soup suppers will be held this year. There will be no church on Wednesday, Dec. 23.
Christmas Eve Services: 5 p.m. in Ellinger; 6 p.m. in Warrenton; 7 p.m. in Fayetteville; and 8 p.m. in Rutersville.
On Dec. 27, there will be lessons and Christmas carols at 9 a.m. in Warrenton. No breakfast will be served following the joint worship.
Fayetteville Brethren Church
The Fayetteville Brethren Church, located at 1022 Kramr Rd., will not have in-person services until further notice. The Unity of the Brethren has several Sunday worship services that are available online. Information about worship broadcasts on Facebook and YouTube may be found at UnityoftheBrethren. org.
