Fayetteville KCs to BBQ Sunday

The local Knights of Columbus will be having their monthly barbecue this Sunday, Nov. 8, at the St John Catholic Church pits starting at 10:30 a.m. Barbecue chicken, sausage and ribs will be available. To place your order, call (979) 249-6003.

The Catholic Daughters of America will be serving side dishes to-go also. Masks are required and all social distancing will be observed.

Veterans Day

Fayetteville ISD will celebrate Veterans Day this school year a little different The school will be hosting a drive-thru parade honoring our local veterans.

All veterans meet at the Fayetteville Square at 8:45 a.m.-Nov 11. the veterans will parade to the school for a welcome by the Fayetteville ISD students.

KC Gumbo

The Knights of Columbus will be serving a chicken and sausage gumbo and rice as a drive-thru event on Friday, Nov. 13, at the St John Parish Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. A serving of gumbo and rice will sell for $10 per container. To place advance orders, call (832) 260-3631.

St Paul Turkey Stew

The St Paul Lutheran Church will be having its 40th annual turkey stew and bake sale on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Old Fire Station on the square with serving to begin at 10:30 a.m. The cost will be $8 per quart.

Bicycle Club

The Fayetteville Cycling Club has been approved by the county officials to have its 23rd annual bicycle ride on Sunday, Nov. 15. This event benefits the Fayetteville School Athletic Department and Education Foundation.

Three new courses will be offered: 7 miles, 17 miles or 28 miles. A person can do one loop, then another if desired to get the mileage you want

Registration for the ride will be Saturday, Nov. 14, from 2 to 5 p.m. on the square or Sunday morning, Nov. 15, from 6:30 to 8 a.m. on the square. Masks are required for registration, but not while you ride.

The ride will begin at 8 a.m. from the square on Sunday morning, Nov. 15.

This ride is a great family event and a great way to help the school.
