Fayette Community Foundation Awards $7,000 in Grants
Fayette County Habitat for Humanity was granted $2,000 to assist with the pre-development phase of the Camp St. Cottages, a senior community consisting of 10 cottage-style homes, a fellowship hall, and a gazebo for use by the residents. In addition, Camp St. Cottages will include a Senior Support Office for use by partner organizations in providing programming to the local senior community. James Dick Foundation for the Performing Arts was granted $1,000 to assist with the performance costs of the annual Young Person’s Concert, which invites local students of all ages to enjoy, learn, and engage with the various areas of a live orchestra at no cost. At the conclusion of the 45-minute interactive concert, participants are welcomed to the stage for a hands-on experience with the diverse instruments and musicians. Navidad Valley Community Connections was granted $2,000 to assist with the administrative and technical costs of expanding service programming to current and new members. NVCC provides a multipurpose organization that initiates, sponsors, and promotes events and activities which enhance the quality of life for seniors and the surrounding communities. Parents as Teachers was granted $2,000 to assist with continuing one of the organization’s essential programs, Group Connections. This monthly parent support meeting is provided in addition to personal home visits as a unique and powerful way of presenting child development information to local families during the crucial early years of their children’s lives.
The Fayette Community Foundation is a tax-exempt public charity that was formed in 2001 to help Fayette County and surrounding community members easily use their resources for lasting legacies or one-time gifts given to area non-profits. The foundation proudly serves the remarkable people whose gifts sustain and support the charities of the region while also serving the community as a whole by acting as a bridge between resources and the local nonprofits who work diligently to meet the changing needs of Fayette County.
The Fayette Community Foundation is proud to announce the 2020 recipients of the organization’s annual Grant Cycle. With a distribution of $7,000, these local agencies will be able to address programming needs for their clients and continue to provide social services directly to the members of Fayette County.
The Fayette Community Foundation is proud to serve the remarkable people whose financial gifts make a lasting difference in our community, including the management of local programs that are making significant impact in the region: La Grange Computers 4 All, the ESL/SSL program, and several scholarships.
Individuals, businesses, and organizations are all welcome to create funds within the foundation to assist with meeting local and regional challenges through various tax-advantaged means. Fayette Community Foundation is able to receive charitable gifts, manage charitable assets, and makes charitable grants all while ensuring donors with confidence that their generosity will achieve the greatest possible impact by building sustainable endowment funds over time. These endowment funds are never spent but instead permanently invested to produce income.
After 18 years as a volunteer board, the Fayette Community Foundation is branching out as they welcome Susannah Mikulin as the first Executive Director of the agency in the beginning of 2021. Mikulin joins the Fayette Community Foundation with a wealth of nonprofit management knowledge, experience, and a passionate excitement to grow the positive impact in the region.
