Fall Treats: Cinnamon Rolls, Pumpkin Cookies
The family was fortunate to acquire our late Grandma’s cinnamon roll recipe. In our opinion, Grandma Adelia Giese’s cinnamon rolls were the best, huge, gooey, filling and melted in your mouth.
Many times, I thought about trying my hand at making those cinnamon rolls but the recipe was incomplete. I’m the kind of cook that needs everything spelled out and Grandma’s recipe lacked specific measurements and details.
One day, I asked Catherine Poppe, Director of Marketing and Communications at Fayette Electric Cooperative, if she would summit a recipe to be printed in the Fayette County Record for the month of October. To my surprise, she submitted her cinnamon roll recipe. What was even more surprising was she used many of same ingredients my grandmother used and the recipe was very detailed.
Catherine also explained that she sometimes makes the cinnamon rolls ahead of time to take to deer camp. And, as many of you know, hunting season is right around the corner. What could be more fall than that?
Catherine has also submitted a The Great Pumpkin Pan Cookie Recipe.
