Evans’ First Birthday Celebrated in Muldoon

Jase Douglas Evans celebrated his first birthday with his parents, Ryan and Kelly Evans, along with his grandparents, Donna and Robert Evans. Even with COVID-19 restrictions, the little guy enjoyed his first birthday celebration and really loved his birthday present, a little John Deere ride on tractor. He is definitely a tractor boy and took to riding it immediately with his John Deere cap on.

Forks & Fingers Dinner

This Saturday, Dec. 5, the Muldoon Fellowship Center (formerly the Methodist Church behind the park) will host an event from 4 to 6 p.m. Bring a food dish such as an appetizer, finger foods, salad, vegetable/ fruit tray, bread, dessert or just a favorite food. This event will be a fun time for the area ladies to gather. The only requirement is the food must be eaten with fingers or a fork. There is limited time to RSVP, so please text your RSVP or questions to (281) 682-5625 or (979) 702- 1076. There also will be a small gift exchange. Your gift value should be $2 to $3, wrapped or in a gift bag.

Weather

There has been a little rain in the Muldoon area. Some spots got three tenths of an inch while others have seen little if not any. Mornings have been very foggy and cool, then warming up in the afternoons. The promise of rain is in the forecast as of this writing, along with cooler temperatures.

Out and About

Kathy Chlumsky travelled to Austin recently to have lunch with her daughter, Summer. They managed to get in a little shopping while out and about. Kathy also got to play with her grandson, Marcus, for a bit, but missed getting to see granddaughter, Olivia, who was in school.

Penny and Stephen McFarlin recently went to Hot Springs, Arkansas. They were traveling with Cassis and E.J. Hajdik of Cistern.

Neighborhood Watch

Be sure to be on the lookout for out-of-place vehicles or strange vehicles. Call your neighbors to make sure they know about someone lurking around their property. There has been too much illegal activity in the area not to be on the alert. If you cannot contact the property owner, call the sheriff’s office and let them send a deputy out to see what is going on.

Be sure to make note of the vehicle’s color, make, model and license plate number. Also make note of the day and time. If possible, make notes on any persons you may notice in the vicinity. With a proactive approach, we all can pull together and prevent crime in our small community.

Ill

Be sure to check in with your neighbors. This is the year we all need to take care of each other. There have been a number of people who have been sick in the area, and some need help or maybe just to hear from someone. The virus, along with sinus issues and allergies, are very active right now. Reach out and check on your neighbors, especially the older ones, to see if they are ok and if they are in need of anything. ‘Tis the season, to be thankful and to spread some cheer that, right now, a simple phone call can bestow.
