Enjoy Beef Stew at Carmine Christmas Fest
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Christmas Fest will be held on Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Carmine Hall with the theme “The Polar Express!”
Shop the unique vendor booths for Christmas gifts.
Bring your children to really “ride” the “Polar Express.” See Santa from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m and take photos.
Enjoy kettle-cooked beef stew or enjoy an old-fashioned hamburger with chips and tea or water from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Desserts will be also be available. You may take-out or eat at distanced tables.
CDC guidelines will be followed. Masks are encouraged and social distancing will be observed. Tables and booths will be spaced farther apart.
Call (979) 451-1507 to reserve gallon and half-gallon stew-to-go. Meal tickets and Santa drawing tickets are sold at the door and at Carmine State Bank.

RT-C School News
The Round Top-Carmine High School boys basketball team hosts Flatonia on Dec. 4 and Bryan JV on Dec. 5. They play in Burton on Dec. 8. The girls play at Hempstead on Dec. 4 and host North Zulch on Dec. 8. Jr. High girls and boys play at Richards on Dec. 7.
Carmine VFD
The Carmine Volunteer Fire Department drill night is scheduled for Dec. 10. The regular December meeting will be cancelled due to Christmas Eve.
With the cooler weather, remember to check your smoke detectors and keep space heaters away from curtains and other combustible furnishings.
Ledbetter Lane of Lights
The Ledbetter Christmas Lane of Lights has been canceled this year. There will be a display set up, as always, to be viewed by those driving on Highway 290.
MLLC News
Saturday worship service with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School is on Sunday at 9 a.m. Sunday worship with Holy Communion, observing the Second Sunday in Advent, is at 10 a.m. The Sunday School Christmas Program will be presented during the worship service. The service will also be on mllccarmine.com. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Visitors’ Center
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Recycling
The Recycling trailer is back at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m. They will not be there on Thanksgiving Day.
Dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans are accepted. It is very helpful to have the recycled items separated. Attendants are available to help unload.
They kindly ask that you please wait to drop off items until they are open.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30 to 11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
