Ellinger Chamber to Host Lunch Fundraiser
The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce has scheduled another fundraiser. Mark your calendars for Sunday, Dec. 6. They will be serving a drive-thru fried chicken and sausage lunch. This is usually the date for the annual Polka Fest.
SLM News
The Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County (SLM) will be having only one joint Thanksgiving Service this year. It is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 23, at 6 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran in Fayetteville. The SLM is inviting the local Brethren Churches, along with others who may want to participate. The theme for this year is “Enter His Gates With Thanksgiving.” Participants will gather inside the sanctuary for worship, to lift voices together, to hear God’s Word and give thanks.
Pastor Marcia Kifer and Vicar Cole will participate in the La Grange Area Ministerial Alliance Community Worship scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 22. The service will be held at 6 p.m. at the Remnant Church with Pastor Chris Little from the Crosspoint Community Church preaching.
The SLM Council will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 5:30 p.m. at Rutersville. The Congregation of Councils will also meet, but at 6:30 p.m.
Hermann Sons Life Lodge
The Ellinger Hermann Sons Life Lodge will not be meeting for the remainder of 2020. They will keep you updated as to when the lodge will meet again. For more information, contact Diane Marusik.
Fayetteville Brethren Church
The Fayetteville Brethren Church, located at 1022 Kramr Rd., will not have in-person services until further notice. The Unity of the Brethren has several Sunday Worship services that are available online. Brethren Churches offering live worship services at 10:15 a.m. each Sunday are: Taylor - Rev. Jimmy Hejl; Nelsonville - Rev. Groseclose; Ocker — Rev. Dr. Brad Herridge; and West - Rev. Gerry Davis; and Wall at 10:45 a.m. with Revs. Tommy Tallas and Ryan Volkman.

Ellinger To Be Incorporated
The Incorporation issue passed in our small community. Matt Mikulenka, Joe Lamer and Kenny Stojanek will be working to set up the new city government.
Ellinger Sewer and Water
The Ellinger Sewer and Water Supply Corporation held its regular monthly meeting on Monday, Nov. 9 at the Ellinger Fire Station. Greg Hunger, president, called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. There were four directors present, and three absent. The minutes from the October meeting were reviewed and approved. Bradley Loehr of BEFCO presented the Engineer’s report. He noted that Russel Drilling has moved to the Ellinger well site and drilling should begin this week. The Fayette County land transfer has been completed and handed over to the corporation’s attorney for review and filing. Loehr also gave an update on funding procedures for the water well / filtration system project. The corporation will need to procure a financial advisor and an attorney for this process. The 2019 audit needs to be finalized soon also. Next Scott Manuel of Inframark presented the manager’s report. He noted that water usage was down from the previous month, and that there was one area of concern at the WWTP. Additionally five meters/meter boxes were replaced per the meter change out program. There was one minor leak on Grover St which needed repairs at the end of October, but for the most part it was a relatively quiet month. Next the billing coordinator/bookkeeper presented the financial report along with bills due for payment. Expenses were higher this month due to the repairs at the WWTP, liability insurance, and the TCEQ permit. It should be noted that expenses were lower than usual last month. Election procedures were discussed; the annual meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021. Three director’s positions will be coming vacant in February. The Board will be sending out a letter to its membership about the annual meeting and upcoming election. The Board has scheduled another workshop with a TRWA circuit rider for Thursday, Nov. 19 at 5:30 p.m. at the Ellinger Fire Station. The next regular meeting will be Monday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m.
