Deputy Charges Coleman Man With Possession of Methamphetamines

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Wednesday morning, Nov. 18 around 1 a.m. Deputy Jared Michalec conducted a traffic stop on a 1998 Ford van for failing to stop at the stop sign on St. Highway 71 westbound feeder road at Von Minden St.

After contact was made with the driver, who had an expired drivers license and exhibited nervous behavior, consent to search the vehicle was given.

Deputy Michael Krenek also assisted Michalec who located a bag containing crystal like substance that tested positive for methamphetamines.

Arrested was 39-year-old William James Strength of Coleman who was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
