Deputy Adam Mack Makes Drug Arrests

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports several drug arrests were made over the weekend by Deputy Adam Mack.

On Saturday, Nov. 7 while providing security for an event in the High Hill area Deputy Mack received narcotics information and located the subject involved. After further investigation a subject was found to be in possession of a small amount of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. Charges on the subject are pending.

On the evening of Monday, Nov. 9 Deputy Mack was patrolling Highway 71 in the La Grange area and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding. After making contact with the driver Deputy Mack detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and the driver. After a brief interview the driver admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle. Deputy Mack conducted a search of the vehicle and located jars containing marijuana “wax” and vials containing THC oil. Charges are pending on the driver.

Later Monday evening Deputy Mack conducted another traffic stop on Highway 77 near the La Grange area. On making contact with the driver Deputy Mack observed the driver and occupants to appear very nervous. After further investigation the driver was found to have a warrant from Madison County for possession of a controlled substance and one of the passengers was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The driver, 57-year-old John Russup of College Station, was arrested on the warrant and booked into the Dan R. Beck Justice Center. Charges are pending on the passenger.
