Czhilispiel Parade Still A Go Even Though Fest Cancelled

Most of Czhilispiel 48 in Flatonia has been cancelled this year because of coronavirus precautions, but the Grand Parade will continue beginning at noon on Sunday, October 25. The parade is sponsored by the Women’s Action Guild.

The Parade Marshals for Czhilispiel 48 will be the Flatonia Area Health Care Workers.

Participants are asked to check in at the Flatonia ISD football field parking lot between 11-11:30 a.m. Judging will begin at 11:30 a.m. The deadline for entries in the parade is October 23.

The Grand Parade is normally just a part of the whole Czhilispiel celebration, which includes CASI & Hometown Czhili Cook-offs, BBQ Cookoff, continuous live music, arts and crafts vendors, a variety of food booths, carnival, and more. These activities will not take place this year.

CDC guidelines will be in place for the event and attendees are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing on the parade entries and while watching the parade.
