The Carmine Volunteer Fire Department’s regular December meeting will be cancelled, due to Christmas Eve.
If you use space heaters, make sure they are kept away from curtains and other combustible material.
Rebekah Group
The Rebekah Group of Martin Luther Lutheran Church met on Dec. 10 at noon, with eight members and Pastor David Tinker present. Members attending were Dianna Gerland, Barbara Jacob, Sedalia Ullrich, Jocie Braun, Diana Wunderlich, Joys Baird, Susan Ray and Nancy Eilers.The ladies enjoyed a meal with food brought by all members. For the Bible study, Susan Ray gave an Advent devotional followed by Nancy Eilers playing piano selections of Christmas songs. Susan Ray, president, called the meeting to order. Correspondence included thank you notes from Rainbow Room, Hospice Brazos Valley and Hope Rising.
Sedalia Ullrich reported for Mission Community that she took the poinsettias and tins with cookies to MLLC member residents at Brenham Nursing and Rehab and Argent Court in Brenham, and Bec’s Blessing in Giddings. A card was sent to Elvera Rudloff.
Joys Baird reported for Mission Growth that she, Susan Ray and Nancy Eilers met to plan the 2021 Yearbook. It has been completed and copies are being distributed. In January, we will discuss who will take the duties of Community and Growth offices.
Dianna Gerland gave the offering meditation for Cheryl Etzel. The WELCA Unit meeting is on Jan. 4, 2021 at 6 p.m. The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
MLLC News
The Christmas Eve Candlelight Service is on Thursday at 6 p.m. The LYO will present a drama.
Christmas Day worship with Holy Communion is Friday at 10 a.m.
Saturday worship with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School is at 9 a.m. Sunday worship with Holy Communion, observing the First Sunday of Christmas, is at 10 a.m. The service will also be on mllccarmine.com. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
Visitors’ Center
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Recycling The Recycling trailer will
The Recycling trailer will not be at the Carmine Hall or in Ledbetter on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24.
