Carmine Chamber Hosts Christmas Fest Dec. 6
Carmine Chamber of Commerce Christmas Fest will be held on Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Carmine Hall with the theme “The Polar Express!”
Shop the unique vendor booths for Christmas gifts.
Bring your children to really “ride” the “Polar Express.” See Santa from 11:30 – 2 and take photos.
Enjoy Kettle-cooked Beef stew or enjoy an old-fashioned hamburger with chips and tea/ water from 11-1. Desserts will be also be available. You may take-out or eat at distanced tables.
CDC Guidelines will be followed. Masks are encouraged and social distancing will be observed. Tables and booths will be spaced farther apart.

Rebekah Group
The Rebekah Group of Martin Luther Lutheran Church met November 12, 2020 with 7 members present. Attending were Dianna Gerland, Carol Carmean, Barbara Jacob, Diana Wunderlich, Sedalia Ullrich, Susan Ray, and Nancy Eilers.
Birthday celebrants for November were Avalda Pohl and Colette Wunderlich.
Dianna Gerland guided the group through the Bible study, “Holy Time: Session 3 Reimagining the Time to Come.”
President, Susan Ray, called the meeting to order.
Correspondence included a thank you note from Allyne McGilvra for the birthday card she received, along with a donation.
A note was received from Lutheran World Relief with incredible news that the 3 containers in the Beirut explosion were found sealed and not damaged. (Previously they thought they were destroyed.) The placement in the port, inside a concrete storage building and surrounded by other shipping containers, protected the containers enough to even prevent chemical contamination. What a blessing from God! There was a fourth container that had not made it to Beirut before the explosion, and had now safely arrived.
Diana Wunderlich and Carol Carmean reported for Mission Action that 40 boxes were taken by Brick Peele to Zionsville for the Lutheran World Relief shipment on November 7, which had been postponed from Easter Monday. Included were 82 quilts, 6 fleece-tied blankets, 107 school kits, 75 personal care kits, 4 baby care kits, and 10 fabric kits. Also, the quilters met on November 9 and made 12 quilts.
Sedalia Ullrich with Mission Community reported about the gifts to be taken to MLLC members in nursing home and assisted living facilities.
Joys Baird sent her report for Mission Growth that the Thankoffering service was on November 8. Participating were Joys Baird, Dianna Gerland, Kandyce Hughes, Kennedy Flinn, Debby Peele, Leonita Sanders, Jennifer Tinker, Morgan Williams, and Reagan Williams. The table was decorated the previous day by JoLynn Schoenberg, Nancy Eilers, Dianna Gerland, Emma Baird, and Joys Baird. The Yearbook was planned on October 26 by Susan Ray, Nancy Eilers, and Joys Baird. They will be printed in December.
It was decided to have discussions at meetings to get ideas and decide on someone to take the lead for the projects that Growth and Community officers do.
It was noted that the Chrismon tree in the sanctuary will be set up and decorated on November 29.
The Christmas tree in the fellowship hall will not be put up this year.
The group decided to send monetary donations to Deputy Santa, Hospice, AMEN, Hope Rising, and Rainbow Room.
Carol Carmean read a Thanksgiving prayer for the offering meditation.
The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer, followed by the singing of the table prayer. Hostess was Susan Ray.
Lane of Lights Cancelled
The Ledbetter Christmas Lane of Lights has been cancelled this year. They hope to have it next year. There will be a display set up, as always, to be viewed by those driving on Highway 290.
MLLC News
Thanksgiving Eve worship service will be held at Waldeck on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Saturday worship service with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday School Christmas program practice is at 8:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. Sunday worship with Holy Communion, observing the First Sunday in Advent, is at 10 a.m. The service will also be on mllccarmine. com. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
The Chrismon Tree will be set up and decorated following worship.
AA meets Sunday at 5 p.m.
Men in Mission meet on Monday at 6 p.m. and will pack the Christmas boxes for Seafarers at the Port of Houston.
Visitors’ Center
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Recycling trailer will not be available until further notice.
