Auto Accidents Keep LG Police Busy
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Nov. 15-22.
Accident
On Nov. 16, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to an accident in the 1000 block of E. State Highway 71 Bypass. A car hit a deer and officer stood by for traffic control.
On Nov. 16, Maxwell was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Travis in regard to a two-vehicle accident.
On Nov. 17, Maxwell was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Madison in regard to a traffic accident.
On Nov. 19, Patrolman David Mohr received a call of a two-vehicle accident in the 2200 block of W. State Highway 71 Business.
On Nov. 20, Maxwell was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Monroe in regard to a twovehicle accident. A citation was issued.
On Nov. 21, Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of W. Travis for an accident. Officer took report.
Agency Assist
On Nov. 20, Patrolman Mitchell Maxwell assisted EMS in the 100 block of E. Eblin.
Alarm
On Nov. 17, Maxwell was dispatched to the 2000 block of W. State Highway 71 Business in regard to an alarm. Officer checked the business and found all to be secure.
On Nov. 20, Maxwell was dispatched to the 500 block of S. Jackson in regard to an alarm. Officer checked the residence and found all to be secured.
On Nov. 20, Patrolman John Wostarek was dispatched to the 600 block of S. Jefferson to an alarm. Officer found the building to be secure.
On Nov. 21, Patrolman Brett Meinardus responded to the 600 block of S. Jefferson for an alarm. Officer checked the building and all was secure.
Assault
On Nov. 21, Patrolman Justin Koehne met with complainant in the 200 block of S. Jefferson about an assault .The assault occurred in the county so the call was passed to a deputy for investigation.
Criminal Mischief
On Nov. 16, Koehne responded to the 500 block of S Main to take a criminal mischief report.
Civil Matter
On Nov. 15, Wostarek was dispatched to the 300 block of E. Live Oak in regard to a civil matter.
On Nov. 16, Maxwell responded to the 600 block of S. College for a civil matter.
Criminal Mischief On Nov. 15, Patrolman Rob
On Nov. 15, Patrolman Robin Emmons was dispatched to the 500 block of Koenig Lane for a disturbance between a male and female. The male suspect damaged the female’s phone.
On Nov. 20, Chief Gilbreath spoke with an individual at the police station who comes every morning claiming that he is treated unfairly.
Found Property
On Nov. 19, Wostarek was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Madison in regard to found property.
Harassment
On Nov. 17, Meinardus spoke with caller who stated that a subject was continually calling her phone and that he stole some paperwork from her vehicle during an incident the previous night. Officer requested she come in and complete a statement regarding the incident.
On Nov. 20, Maxwell spoke to a subject in the 300 block of E Live Oak in regard to harassment.
Narcotics Complaint
On Nov. 21, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of N. Monroe where caller stated that he found what appeared to be narcotics in subject’s room. Subject no longer lives at the location but visited early in the day to shower and take a nap.
Property Damage
On Nov. 21, Meinardus responded to the 100 block of Northpointe where caller stated that he went out to dinner and when he returned he found that someone had hit and damaged his fence with a vehicle of some sort. Officer took photographs of the damage and completed a report.
Suspicious Vehicle
On Nov. 15, Mohr received a call of a wrong way driver at the intersection of Highway 71 and Highway 159. Officer was unable to locate.
Traffic Hazard
On Nov. 18, Meinardus responded to the 100 block of W Travis where caller stated that a bucket truck was parked in the road on Travis. Officer arrived and spoke to the operator who was putting up Christmas lights on the town square. The lights on the vehicle were on but the equipment was relocated off the street.
Trespassing
On Nov. 15, Emmons was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Travis where complainant wanted to report a known subject who continues to come onto his property after being told not to. Complainant was given a criminal trespass affidavit to be filled out and the known subject will receive notice.
On Nov. 19, Investigator Troy Stevens responded to the 700 block of N. Horton where complainant requested a criminal trespass issued to a subject.
Verbal Dispute
On Nov. 21, Koehne responded to the 1100 block of E. Guadalupe for a possible disturbance. No disturbance was found.
Miscellaneous
On Nov. 16, Maxwell spoke with a subject in the 800 block of E. Travis in regard to his property being damaged.
On Nov. 18, Mohr while on routine patrol observed a disabled 18-wheeler in the road blocking the roadway in the 1000 block of W. State Highway 71 Business. Officer assisted with traffic control until vehicle could be moved.
On Nov. 19, Currington was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Travis to assist a motorist. Officer helped the subject get back on the road.
On Nov. 20, Koehne responded to the 600 block of N. Washington where complainant advised neighbors were making a lot of noise.
On Nov. 20, Meinardus responded to the 1000 block of Carroll Lane where caller stated that the alarm on a piece of construction equipment was going off at the location. Officer advised TxDOT who notified the company doing the construction.
