ARTS’ Free Art After School Programs Now Enrolling for the Winter and Spring Sessions
ARTS, based in Fayetteville, continues to expand its programs. As 2021 opens, youth in the South-Central Texas region will have the opportunity to enjoy even more art programs.
January will kick off the classes with free Art After School programs offered to the youth in Fayetteville, at Sacred Heart Catholic School and The Remnant Academy in La Grange, and at St. Michael Catholic School in Weimar. Class sizes are limited and scheduled to begin the week of Jan. 11, 2021. The classes currently scheduled and open for enrollment are:
• Fayetteville- Art Classes: Grades 1-3 and Grades 4-8
• Fayetteville- Sculpture: Grades 4-8
• Fayetteville- Fiber/Weaving: Grades 3-8
• Fayetteville- Quilting: Grades 3-8
• La Grange - Sacred Heart Catholic School- Art Classes: Grades 1-2 and Grades 4-6
• La Grange - The Remnant Academy- Art Classes: Grades 3-8
• Weimar - St. Michael Catholic School- Art Classes: Grades 3-8

All classes follow the school calendars for holidays and any required COVID closure. Class sizes are limited and fill quickly. Do not delay in registering your child.
The classes and programs of Arts for Rural Texas are provided through the generous donations of the businesses and residents in the communities. It is proven that the arts help in the development of the brain and its ability to think creatively. As well, art contributes to building strong citizens by developing better focus and improved problem solving skills. Art offers children the opportunity to demonstrate skills and successes that are not primarily dependent upon language and math skills. This builds greater self-esteem and better performance in other programs. Creative thinking, problem solving, leadership development are all natural results of involvement in the arts.
ARTS offers free programs to children in seven communities in Fayette County. All children are invited to participate in the programs offered by Arts for Rural Texas.
