Annual Carmine VFD Fundraiser Set July 19

Come support the Carmine Volunteer Fire Department on July 19, when it is having its annual fundraiser at the Carmine Hall. The famous fried chicken dinner will be served from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. or until sold out. Pick up will be drive thru only from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Donations will be accepted as payment for the meal. Eckermann’s sausage links will be available for $10 each. Raffle tickets are also available from any Carmine Fire Department member or in the drive through.

RT-C School News 

The RT-C administrative offices are open Mondays-Thursdays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Carmine Casino Night 

“Stars and Stripes, celebrating 250 years of America” is the theme for the Carmine Chamber of Commerce annual Casino Night on Saturday, Aug. 8 at the Carmine Hall beginning at 6 p.m. A chicken-fried steak meal by Gary Goebel will be served, beginning at 7 p.m.

Carmine Lions Club 

The Carmine Lions Club will meet on Tuesday, July 14 at Windmill Ranch at 6 p.m. A casual meal will be served.

All members are encouraged to attend and all people interested in serving through Lions Club are welcome to attend. The Lions motto is “We serve.”

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month.

Bingo at Carmine Hall 

The next Bingo at the Carmine Hall will be on Friday, July 24. Doors open at 4 p.m. and games start at 6 p.m. Twelve regular games and two cover-all games are played. Food and drinks will be available. Mobile Food Pantry

Capital Area Food Bank’s mobile pantry will be in the parking lot of Waldeck Lutheran Church located near the intersection of FM 1291 and FM 2145 on July 18 from 1011 a.m.

Please clean out back seats, trunks, or truck beds so the pre-boxed food may be placed in the vehicle for drivethrough pick up. It is for Fayette County residents.

Carmine 42 Domino Club The Carmine 42 Domino Club met on July 1 at JW’s Steakhouse in Carmine for their monthly match. After eating a delicious lunch, eight competitive games of 42 were played.

The high-scoring partners were Carol Naegeli and Jeanette Schoenst with a score of 2,102 and they played one hand of 84. La Verne Albers and Edith Flinn were second, with a score of 1765 and they played one hand of 84 and one hand of 126. Linda Mattocks and Marlene Waak also played, as did Avalda Pohl and Myrt Meinkowsky who played one hand of 84.

Everyone enjoyed the unpredictable games and fellowship. This group will play again on Aug. 5.

MLLC News 

Senior Citizens meet on Wednesday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Mission & Ministry Building.

AA group meets Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Sunday School begins Sunday at 9 a.m.

Worship with Holy Communion, observing the Eighth Sunday after Pentecost is Sunday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Donna Wright will serve as the guest pastor.
