American Legion Quade-Werchan Post Cancels Nov. 5 Meeting

Due to the revised schedule for the Fall 2020 Antiques Show that ended on Oct. 31 and out of continued caution to protect the health and safety of the post members, the monthly meeting for American Legion Quade-Werchan Post 338 scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 5, will not be held. The next general meeting for all Post members and the Ladies Auxiliary is planned for Dec. 3 beginning at 7:30 p.m. A catered meal for Post members and those of the Ladies Auxiliary will be held prior to the December meeting with service beginning at 6:45 p.m.

Post Commander Lyn Reavis stated, “The original scheduling of the Nov. 5 meeting does not allow for the antique vendors associated with the Fall 20020 Antiques Show to clear the property following the revised event schedule. Since little has changed from the County and the State regarding guidelines on social gatherings, waiting to meet until December will allow us to protect our members and the show participants. The Executive Committee met on Oct. 13 to plan out social distancing in the hall so that the post can meet in December and to conduct business on behalf of the post.”

The December meeting will be used to review the current status of the post budget and plan for 2021, and continue discussions on building repairs and improvements. Information from the meeting will be distributed to the members.”

Mr. Reavis noted that members will be receiving their monthly newsletter and requested that they also pay close attention to local newspapers and radio stations for updates during the month of November. Mr. Reavis reported that the Ladies Auxiliary for the post will also not meet in November and reconvene their meetings on Dec. 3. All meetings will be held in compliance with current conditions regarding the COVID-19 virus.

American Legion Quade-Werchan Post 338 meets the first Thursday of each month at their hall located at 1503 N. State Highway 237 in Round Top. Meetings begin promptly.
