American Legion Quade-Werchan Post 338 Cancels December Meeting
Due to the continued rise in COVID-19 cases and out of caution to protect the health and safety of the post members, the monthly meeting for American Legion Quade-Werchan Post 338 scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 3, will not be held. The next general meeting for all Post members and the Ladies Auxiliary is planned for Jan. 7, 2021 beginning at 7:30 p.m. subject to conditions at that time.
The catered meal for Post members and those of the Ladies Auxiliary that was to be held prior to the December meeting will be postponed until the post celebrates the birthday of the Ameri can Legion in March 2021.
Post Commander Lyn Reavis stated, “The Executive Committee met and decided that the scheduling of the December 3rd meeting including a catered dinner and social hour at the hall posed too great a risk to our members.” Mr. Reavis noted that the Executive Committee has met twice in the past 45 days to conduct the business of the post as authorized by the post constitution and by-laws.
Mr. Reavis noted, “Members will be receiving their monthly newsletter which will include information from the Executive Committee meetings.” He requested that they also pay close attention to local newspapers and radio stations for updates during the month of December. Mr. Reavis reported that the Ladies Auxiliary for the post will also not meet in December and reconvene their meetings on Jan. 7, 2021. All meetings will be held in compliance with current conditions regarding the COVID-19 virus.
American Legion Quade-Werchan Post 338 meets the first Thursday of each month at their hall located at 1503 N. State Highway 237 in Round Top. Meetings begin promptly at 7:30 p.m.
