American Legion Post Holds Flag Retirement Ceremony
Carmine Night Out
Carmine Night Out was held on Oct. 15 at the Carmine Volunteer Fire Department Fire Station. A good number of people attended. They enjoyed hot dogs, drinks and door prizes.
Marlene Waak, Chamber president, gave a welcome to everyone attending and introduced the speakers.
Speakers included Fayette County Judge Joe Weber, Precinct 2 Commissioner Luke Sternadel, Constable Roger Wunderlich, Carmine Mayor Wade Eilers, Deputy T.J. McCleney with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, Jennifer Mohr with the Carmine Volunteer Fire Department and Linda Patterson, Executive Director of the Round Top-Carmine Education Foundation.
Len Peters reminded everyone about the upcoming antiques shows. Lori Olivarez-Ligues and Michelle Banse Stokes spoke about the official Visitors and Newcomers Guide for Carmine, which will be published and expected out at the beginning of December. If anyone would like to participate in this guide, please contact the Chamber of Commerce at louann1658@att.net.
Lutheran World Relief
The Lutheran World Relief Shipment of quilts and kits will take place on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville beginning at 8 a.m. It was postponed from Easter Monday.
RT-C School News
The Round Top-Carmine High School varsity volleyball team defeated Snook in three sets on Oct. 13. Both the JV and Jr. High teams won in two sets.
On Oct. 16, varsity beat Fayetteville in three sets.
RT-C FFA is taking orders for fruit, meat, cookie dough and other items. The deadline to order is Oct. 28. RT-C FCCLA is taking orders for candles and that deadline is Oct. 30. Contact any FFA or FCCLA members.
Carmine VFD
The Carmine Volunteer Fire Department drill night is the second Thursday in November.

Christmas Fest
Since the Carmine Chamber of Commerce cancelled their casino night due to COVID-19, they are focusing on the Christmas Fest on Dec. 6. (Casino night is usually their most successful event of the year.) So, in addition to craft booths and a meal, they will hold a drawing. The cost per ticket will be $10, with 10 great prizes.
MLLC News
Saturday worship service with Holy Communion is at 6 p.m.
Sunday worship with Holy Communion, observing All Saints Day, is at 10 a.m. The service will also be on mllccarmine.com. The Rev. David Tinker is the pastor.
AA meets Sunday at 5 p.m.
Visitors’ Center
The Carmine Chamber of Commerce Visitors’ Center at the restored Train Depot is open on the second and fourth Fridays and Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Recycling
The recycling trailer is at the Carmine Hall on Thursdays from noon until 4 p.m.
Items accepted are dry newspapers, telephone books, magazines, cardboard, paper, junk mail, clean no. 1 and no. 2 food grade plastics, all colors glass, steel food cans and aluminum cans. It is helpful to have the recycled items separated. Unloading assistance is available.
They kindly ask that you please wait to drop off items until they are open.
The trailer is in Ledbetter from 8:30 to 11 a.m., also on Thursdays, behind the Ledbetter Fireman’s Hall.
