The latest COVID numbers provided by county officials show a big jump in the number of probable cases here.
Last week there were 25 active and 30 probable cases. As of Sunday night there were 20 active in addition to 56 probable. Also Fayette County was informed Friday that they are no longer eligible to try to claim an exemption from the state’s mask mandate because “Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) data shows that the county has 32 new cases during the previous 14 day period. Fayette County will be eligible to reapply for this exemption in 14 days if the county maintains 30 or less new COVID-19 cases during that timeframe.
