That Little Voice

The marigolds are fading, the music has softened, the festivities a warm memory, and the hearts of the Mexican people are filled with renewed love for those souls of deceased relatives who were welcomed back for a brief visit this week during the celebration of el Dia los Muertos (The Day of the Dead).
That Little Voice

Lost Our Way

To The Editor: We are lost as a nation. Too many people have been indoctrinated to the Marxist (Progressive, socialist-democrat, whatever name you want to call it.) agenda.

The Hurt of Hatred

To The Editor: My name is February, but My name is February, but many of you will know me as Dane Hall. I was a star student at La Grange High School before I left to attend college at 16.

School Should Exercise Discretion with Books

To The Editor: I agree with Sarah Kellen, who is concerned about her fourth grade daughter having access to “People of Pride, 25 Great LGBTQ Americans.” Along with Sarah’s daughter, my granddaughter is in the fourth grade at La Grange Elementary, and I would be concerned and upset if she brought home that book from the library. However, I also agree with Jeff Wick, who opines “Let’s not start banning books here.” Banning books is anathema for those who love to read.

Fix the Drains in La Grange

To The Editor: My house was flooded on May 18, 2021 with nine inches of water then on Oct. 14, 2021 with seven inches of water throughout my home.

100 Years of Dedication

To The Editor: Your column regarding the 100 years of The Record gave me many smiles, and then a bit of sadness. We officially bought our home here in December of 2009, yet didn’t move here till June 9, 2011.

A Helping Hand

To The Editor: I am a handicapped senior citizen, if you opened a door for me, (doors are hard if you are on a walker) if you reached for something for me in the store, if you helped me put my things on the checkout counter, if you helped me get things in my little red pickup, if you smiled at me and said “Hello.” Thank you from the bottom of my heart. God Bless you.

Act of Kindness

To The Editor: My son, Willis’ bike was stolen from our front porch on Friday evening. We noticed Saturday morning that it was gone when Willis went outside to play.
