No Place for Sharia Law in Texas

To the editor:

Quoting Debbie and Eric Georgatos, authors of America Can We Talk, “Texas represents core freedom loving, Bible believing, Judeo-Christian American culture, which is precisely what the jihadists of today are determined to destroy.”

Congressman Chip Roy echoes this sentiment in his July 15, 2026, interview on Signal Sitdown with Bradley Devlin.

America is experiencing the collision of two world views: The Christian worldview and the Islamic worldview.

It has been noted “Iran represents the most overtly aggressive Islamic jihad-funding, murderous sharia-enforcing regime in the world today,” and, “President Trump has the overwhelming responsibility to navigate the treacherous waters of a relentlessly belligerent Iran—whose LEADERS lead the chant “death to America,” and fund vicious deadly Islamic terror around the world.”

Americans who oppose the military conflict with Iran “fail to grasp the tenacity, scope, and ferocity of the Islamic conquest now underway in the world, in America”, and specifically in Texas. America’s involvement against Iran is to make the world a better place and at least safe for democracy.

Sharia law is an attack on freedom, our rule of law, and is incompatible with America’s Judeo-Christian foundations.

Our nation has been flooded with millions who reject our values, strain our systems (education, housing, economy, healthcare) and erode our very foundations of freedom, security, and prosperity.

Several reported examples of Imam’s challenging American character include Iranian Shiite Islamic scholar Hamza Sodagar, who said, at a mosque in Richmond, Texas, on March 3, 2026, in a memorial for Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei that Khamenei had wanted Islam to “grow within the United States by the hands of those who live here.” Omar Suleiman, president and co-founder of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research, who “has been accused of defending convicted terrorists, calling for a third intifada, who traveled to Turkey to support Muslim Brotherhood leaders banned from entering the United States,” and on July 12, 2026, posted on social media, just 12 hours after Graham’s death was announced, “Bye Lindsey. May you live an eternity in ruins for the ruins you helped create in Gaza.Amen.”

Dr. Sabeel Ahmedm, executive director of GainPeace claimedataPlanoTexasMosque open house recently “Do not fear. Sharia is not coming to the U.S. because it is already here.”

Texas Scorecard reports, “former Muslims who fled Islamic regimes have warned that Sharia becomes dangerous when it gains state power.”

The core realization that Iranian leaders are fundamentally unworthy of trust must never be ignored.”

Sharia law is not a religious practice. Sharia law is the backbone of the Islamic worldview and claims to be the “answer to mankind’s ignorance.” Sharia law violates freedom of speech. Any Muslim who questions the Quran or Mohammed is threatened with extinction. If allowed state power, sharia law will extinguish American freedom.

The Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke tell us a “kingdom divided against itself will not stand”. To allow Sharia Law to infiltrate America’s legal system is suicide to independence and freedom.
