SHS Golf

The Schulenburg Boys Golf team played in the Giddings Golf tournament last week. The Horns finished 1st in the tournament as a team. Individually Brycen Schramek finished 1st with a score of 79 followed by Reid Janda in 2nd with an 82. Other Shorthorn scores were Cooper Demel 94, Bryce Stoever 94, and Connor Lichnovsky 117.

Third Round Bound: Flatonia is Last County Girls Basketball Team Alive

The Flatonia basketball team is the last Fayette County girls team still alive in the playoffs, thanks to their 67-41 area round win over Evadale Friday in Conroe.

The Lady Bulldogs got 34 points from Summer Sodek and 17 from Kalen Scott as they took control of Friday’s game early and never looked back.

Flatonia now advances to the 2A regional quarterfinals where they will play Mumford in Waller Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

LHS Soccer Swept By Giddings Friday

The La Grange soccer teams played at Giddings Friday. The Leopard boys lost 2-1 with their lone goal coming from Johnathan Vazquez. They are now 3-4 in district play and play at Manor New Tech Friday. The Lady Leps lost 7-0 to fall to 2-5 in district play and host Manor New Tech Friday at 7:15 p.m.

Photos from Friday’s Packed Micro Wrestling Event at Mullins Prairie

The Micro Wrestling Federation drew a capacity crowd to Mullins Prairie Store outside of La Grange Friday night, Feb. 16. Hundreds packed the pavilion to watch nearly three hours of exciting entertainment by the impressive short-statured athletes of the MWF. The wrestler Micro Tiger won the belt that night from former champ Little Disco, and then held onto it following a Battle Royale-style match that ended the night. Lady Leps Lose Softball Opener

The La Grange softball team opened its season Tuesday with a 10-0 loss to Lexington at home. Lexington’s Taylor Atkins pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts.
