La Grange ISD hosted a football camp for elementary and middle school kids last week. At the conclusion of the camp, La Grange Farm Bureau representatives came out on the field and presented the middle school players, and the varsity players (who were helping with the camp) with a sneak preview of the new Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine. That’s shown in the top photo. The local Farm Bureau office sponsored a special La Grangespecifi c cover on the magazine that is being sold for $20 at the administration building. La Grange Little League’s baseball all-star run to the Southwest Regional Tournament ended late Tuesday night with a 11-5 loss to Houston West University. The Intermediate boys finished as district, sectional and East Texas state champs.

Dave Campbell’s 2024 Texas Football magazine is out chock-full of district previews and predictions for the upcoming football season. There’s even a personalized La Grange cover to the magazine (featuring many of the Leps on the bluff at Monument Hill State Historic Site) that was underwritten by Farm Bureau.

The LC Express Track Club had sixty- four (64) athletes to compete at the AAU District Meet June 15-16 at D.W. Rutledge Stadium Converse, Tx. Fifty-nine (59) athletes advanced to the Region 19 Meet June 28-30 at D.W. Rutledge Stadium. Forty-three (43) athletes went on to compete at the AAU Track & Field Primary Nationals Championships July 7-8 and Club Championships July 9-13 held at the University of North Florida - Hodges Stadium, Jacksonville, Florida.

Sunday in New Braunfels, the La Grange Intermediate All-Stars began the Southwest Regionals with a 8-1 loss to San Antonio Northside. The tournament is double elimination.

They were separated by a half century in age – but an amazing bond linked the old and young ballplayers who gathered for a special ceremony Friday in La Grange. They were all championship Little League ballplayers.
