Former LHS Star Thespian Excited About Theater’s Growth in LG

When she was growing up, Martha Ann Janssen Coleman was the self-proclaimed “only theatre kid in La Grange.” On December 4th, 2022, 70-yearold Coleman of Cedar Park called Fayette County Community Theatre to express her sincere surprise and excitement to find that “La Grange has a theatre?!”

Advent Wreath Blessed at Sacred Heart Catholic School

Father Brian, Pastor at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and School, blessed the school’s Advent wreath during morning opening in the cafeteria. “This daily assembly gathers our students for our morning devotion and Gospel reading, song practice for Mass, and each grade level takes turns leading prayers and pledges. It’s a beautiful way to start our school day,” said principal LaDonna Voelkel.

Christmas at Winedale

It felt like a 19th-century Christmas Saturday at the Winedale historical complex outside Round Top, as folk-life demonstrations were held amidst the backdrop of the complex’s 10 nineteenth-century wooden structures and period furnishings. There were several performances at the theater barn as well.

A Good Samaritan Story

“There are still good people left in the world – especially in La Grange, Texas,” said Katrina Allison. She stopped by the newspaper office Friday to publicly thank the Good Samaritan (whoever they are) who picked up her drivers license and credit card that she accidently dropped and left behind in downtown La Grange. Her cards were found Friday on the ground by someone outside Columbus Eye Associates and they took them inside where the cards eventually made it back to Allison. Allison said the people at Columbus Eye didn’t recognize the kind man but Katrina would like to be able to thank the person by baking them whatever kind of Christmas cookies they want. If you were the person who found Allison’s cards give us a call at the Record (968-3155) and we’ll put you in touch with her.
